Week 1, Monday October 1, 2018 - What is a Mean Girl?

Participant Guide

Week 1 we define Mean Girl and bullying.  A mean girl is a female that talks and behaves negatively towards other girls continuously or often.  Bullying is not about the victim it's about the bullying and something is happening in their life that is causing them to act out.  Hurt People Hurt People.

Week 2, Monday, October 8, 2018 - Mean Girl in the Mirror

Participant Guide

One of the challenges with being female is the ability to be harsh on ourselves.  We have the ability to beat ourselves up, say negative things about ourselves and abuse our bodies in more ways than any other person.  With Mean Girl behavior we can be our worst enemy.

Week 3, Monday, October 15, 2018 - Encourage

Participant Guide

When we encourage others we not only lift them up we feel better about ourselves.   Encouragement is the act of giving someone support, confidence and hope in themselves or an activity. We have the ability to encourage others all around of us each day.  In fact, we even have some models in place designed to encourage others.

Week 4, Monday, October 22, 2018 - Reach Out

Participant Guide

Wherever you are you are in community.  Your school, churches, sports clubs and your families are all community.  They see you at your worst and your best.  The celebrate with you and cry next to you when needed.  When we reach out to others we are inviting them to our community.  We are saying I'm not perfect and neither are you, but I want to know your story.

Week 5, Monday, October 29, 2018 - Include

Participant Guide

Including others is a tenant of kindness.  They can look like you or not.  They can be as smart as you or not.  They can live in your community or not.  They can have parents like you or not.  It doesn't matter the background or beliefs we can build a bridge of common ground with others.  This is including others in our lives.  Be somebody that treats everybody like a somebody.

Week 6, Monday, November 5, 2018 - Appreciate

Participant Guide

This week we are focused on appreciation, but before we talk about appreciation I want to talk about gratitude.  It's hard to appreciate anything without a grateful heart.  Gratefulness comes from a internal appreciation for the people in your lives, your blessings and gifts you have been given, both as natural abilities and physical gifts.
